Introduction

The contrast between whores and sluts is interesting. Whores, and by extension their well-publicized kin porn actresses, are part of a simple economic equation: in exchange for money, they will have sex, either with your or a designated surrogate. This service exists, amongst other reasons, because the demand for the commodity they offer is far outstripped by supply. In addition, the unwritten contract between consumer and provider includes certain securities for the length of the transaction, such as nearly absolute discretion and being able to leave without commitment. Even when they chose to get out of the business, most are quite forthright about their pasts and enable prospective romantic partners to make informed decisions.

Unlike a whore, a slut is a woman who does not provide this commodity in exchange for something of equal transactional value. In market terms, the value of a slut consists mostly of sexual availability and little else. Even so, no matter how talented the slut in a sexual sense, the men she attempts to attract benefit more from a “pump and dump,” as Mr. White would put it, than from anything else. For the cream on top of this recipe of disaster, interaction with the slut does not have the implicit guarantees that come with transactions with whores or ex-whores. The average man can easily be fooled into being a cuckold. Or to quote Mr. White, “You can’t turn a ho into a housewife.”

This, of course, leads into the appeal of the “slut” in adult films. The actress taking on the role of the slut thereby sells not only the usual sexual fantasy, but furthers it with new connotations:
  • I find you attractive.
  • I’m sexually open and available.
  • I need to have sex.
  • I won’t charge you for this exquisite fulfillment of lust.
  • I will not deceive you.
  • I will not entrap you with another man’s offspring.
It’s an intoxicating potion too good to be true, but that’s the point of JAV, with this movie as a good example.


The Actress

In my last review, I complained about the deceptions of Photoshop and judging a film by its cover. My sharp disappointment with JUX-600 caused me to go on a JAV break. This movie pulled me out of that funk. Having been fooled once, I was thorough in researching if Kaho Shibuya was as attractive as her cover picture and, praise the Maker, she is!

As much as I favor Yuma Asami, Kaho Shibuya is more beautiful. The oval shape is well-framed by short black hair and her face is rounded off with a pair of dimples that lend her a mischievous air when she smiles. That mischief is quite attractive, even as it quietly advertises what we’re really dealing with. Let me out put it this way: when she smiles, she makes clear she’s no Yua Mikami.

Physically, Kaho Shibuya has a similar figure to Yuma Asami, with a small waist and large breasts (K cups) that were formed naturally and not butchered into existence by some would-be Pygmalion. This shapely body combined with her beauty makes her bankable.

As to her career, it’s rather non-traditional. She initially appeared under Alice Japan, but didn’t cause many waves until she was signed by Tissue. This is speculation, but it seems that Tissue intended to set her on a path similar to China Matsuoka’s, appearing once a month in much hyped releases. However, Kaho Shibuya decided against that in the most brazen way possible, breaking her contract and appearing in nine films for a number of different labels in a single week. It seems like that worked, given her production schedule since.

The Performance

This isn’t Kaho Shibuya’s first time by any reasonable measures of the phrase, but this video is her first appearance working under contract working for the Tissue label. It’s fair to say that after the relative obscurity of her early career, it was her antics in this one which truly promoted her to notoriety.

No innocent here, folks – the star of this film plays the slattern with panache. Even during the introduction sequence, where the camera, much like the male gaze, goes right to her cleavage, Kaho Shibuya’s response can best be summed up as “not yet, eyes up here, then we can play.” Vocally, she reminds me a bit of the Western actress Devon twenty years ago, as she expresses her pleasure without doing the stereotypical JAV whine.

As you might guess, the best word to describe Kaho Shibuya’s performance is “slutty,” but other words that come to mind include enthusiastic, energetic, even greedy. She is certainly conscious of the camera and does a good job of playing to the audience behind the lens, but further brings to mind another word to describe her performance: hedonistic. Even as she plays to the camera, a suspicion lurks that her chosen career is not due to its relative ease or the good pay at the upper tiers, but because she is seeking pleasure. Of course, it could all be a play to the viewer’s fantasies, but at this point, either she’s a fantastic actress or a shameless sybarite.

Story/Theme/Setting

No story, no setting, the theme is how much of a slut Kaho Shibuya is. It’s the weakest part of the whole film as the director seemed more focused on blatant slutdom. It’s an approach that has more in similarity with the average Brazzers scene than with the more typical build-up of JAV. There’s a lesson in creativity that showing is stronger than telling, but this film would have benefited from a bit of subtlety. Even as in your face as it is, there are still a handful of moments that stand out that are more subtle, such as the casual “eyes up here” or the simple practicality of when she uses her cleavage to hold a bottle of water as she drinks. There are four scenes, which don’t necessarily flow together, but more on that momentarily. They mostly work.

Sexual Content

This is what the majority of you came for, so to address the obvious question: yes, she plays the slut to perfection. The first sex scene opens with Kaho Shibuya entering an apartment where a couch has been covered with a blanket. She pulls off the blanket to reveal a man bound by sophisticated bondage gear that leave him in a position more often associated with female actresses. After a deeply formal dogeza which brings her head to the ground, our heroine assesses the situation and… analingus ensues.

No one said a slut needed to be rude.

After analingus and fellatio, Kaho Shibuya proceeds to… well, cowgirl position and mounts him like a pony. She remains fully clothed until the director reminds her that maybe it would be polite to give her new toy some room to move, perhaps even free her breasts from the confines of her sweater and bra. Our heroine amiably agrees and… frees the actor’s legs, leaving essentially exactly how she found him, before she proceeds to further fellatio and a bit of paizuri. She’s about to mount the actor again when the director suggests freeing him completely.

The actor proceeds to eat out and finger Kaho Shibuya so aggressively that she squirts. What ensues is an aggressive sex scene where the two aim to assert dominance via sex. A variety of positions follow as each pushes against the other more forcefully until the winner is, obviously, Kaho Shibuya. She’s almost disappointed when she finishes off her challenger, but her good humor returns quickly.

The next scene is more routine, as Kaho Shibuya wears a silky white baby doll and uses her hands, mouth, and breasts to bring the male actor to orgasm.

The final two scenes are gangbangs, but of very different natures. The more routine gangbang opens in a way that suggests slut Kaho Shibuya has been called upon to provide a man with a deeper comprehension of sex, but that’s dispensed with after two more fellows appear. Our heroine appears quite pleased with the scenario and goes on the attack, using almost every means available to her to seek pleasure for herself. I say almost as there is no anal in this film. There’s one particular moment where she’s on her back and one actor is pounding away, another is using her mouth, and the last makes aggressive use of her breasts. The scene continues as the actors drop out one by one as their inevitable orgasms renders unable to compete, the sexual version of Highlander. The last survivor is as aggressive as the actor from the first scene, but even as he finishes on Kaho Shibuya’s face, we all know who won.

The last scene reverses the first, where the three actors seized Kaho Shibuya and bind her with the bondage gear from the first scene. The actors are armed with all kinds of sex toys, including dildos, vibrators, and massagers, but even as she squirts onto the camera, it’s clear she loves it. Even after they remove her restraints, they discover she has no interest in escape. When they finally leave, it’s clear that even as she recovers her breath, Kaho Shibuya would gladly take more for free.

Overall

This film was Kaho Shibuya’s breakout role, as her popularity grew exponentially after this point. Three months after this film, she was confident enough in her staying power to deliberately break a contract with a label and essentially get away scot-free. Kaho Shibuya is the college slut, the hottest girl on campus whose sexual availability is legendary, but does not capitalize on her assets. She portrays a sexual hedonist and I’m not convinced it’s an act. This film is worth watching, particularly for those who enjoy her particular brand of slatternly brazenness.
