Much like college, our goal is to provide grades that allow students of JAV to understand the strengths and weaknesses of a given film. Like a grade point average, each of the four categories will receive a maximum of 4 stars, and then the average of the categories will be the overall score, rounded to the nearest tenth. Unlike college, the grades are subjective based on the editor's own analysis. Additionally, beyond the calculated rating, a reviewer can assign a subjective overall rating, such as "Highly Recommended", "Worth a Look" or "Not Recommended" etc.
Standard Criteria
Actress: This ranking handles the physical beauty of the actress. This grade can go down if the actress is relatively plain, the DVD cover has been photoshopped to degrees that could be considered perjury, and other factors.
Performance: This ranking evaluates the performance. This not only weighs the natural flow and enthusiasm in sexual activity, but the ability of the actress to provide immersion in the scenario.
Story/Theme/Setting: This ranking involves the execution of the themes presented. This is a creativity/artistic score which will judge the theme of the video as well as how well the theme was pulled off.
Sexual Content: This ranking evaluates the quantity and quality of sexual activity. A film with higher quantity and quality sexual activity would be rated more highly than one with lower quality scenes. Will also judge direction of the sex scenes, staging, use of good camera angles (or poor ones).
