Introduction

Matsuoka China (sometimes referred to as Matsuoka Senna) holds a unique place in my JAV world.  She is the only JAV idol that I can say I've followed from the very beginning.  It was by chance browsing that I stumbled across her debut just a few days after its release.  I was drawn to it by the stylish cover, with Senna-chan practically busting out of a red bathing suit, with gorgeous scenery in the background.  I was smitten by the combination of her adorable girl next door looks coupled with her fantastically juicy and big tits.  I knew that after watching her debut, and having it live up to my imagined expectations, that I wanted to collect every film she put out.  Feel free to check out my review of her debut for more of my initial thoughts on China-chan when she came on the scene.
Now, one of my favorite genres in JAV is soapland.  So it was much to my delight that the good folks at SOD Star decided to give us some China-chan soaplan and spa-related action in several of her films so far.  SOD Star definitely have their own niche when it comes to the types of girls they contract, and they tend to feature them in several of their ongoing series.  Their soapland releases have been generally pretty reliable in my opinion, as they are one of the better soapland film producers in the industry.

The Actress

What can I say, I am a sucker for those innocent looks accompanied by a set of big juicy tits.  But one of the pitfalls of the more "innocent" looking actresses is that they tend to take the coquettish aspect too far, to the point where they are just too passive for my tastes.  Some guys, and certainly many guys in Japan, are into that.  But I like a bit more of a balance, and China-chan does just that.  She conveys a certain innocence, and yet also desire, and when she gets down do business, she can suck a dick like a pro.  When you consider the total package of her face, frame and of course those lovely funbags, overall, she is one of the better-looking actresses.  I'm also starting to think that busty girls with short hair hold some appeal.  Perhaps the shortness of the hair psychologically draws more attention to the body, the tits in particular.  I think the short hair and big tits factor is a main reason I like Ruri Saijo as well, although she is a very different type of star than China-chan.

Slowly but surely, she China-chan has worked her way close to the top of my list.  To my dismay, she only puts out about 1 film a month as an SOD contract girl.  I really wish she had more, because then she might even dethrone Julia as my #1 star.  Mr. Tan had an interesting point that China-chan is like a Ferrarri, meant to be taken out and savored, and not run into the ground.  Perhaps he's right.  I certainly do get good bang for my buck, with most of her films being excellent.  Overall, her on screen talent, face, dynamite body, and especially those tits, I think she's perfect and personally my #2 current idol.

The Performance

I think the soapland genre is very well suited to China-chan's particular performing style.  She provides a comforting, eager, and inviting presence that is a fantastic re-creation of real-life soapland service.  If I had to use one word, I'd say: soothing.  It's not unlike getting a relaxing massage before getting your dick sucked.  China-chan is just superb at simultaneously putting me at ease while also exciting me.  Because the theme of this particular film is "rookie" soap girl, that suggests some inexperience.  Indeed, China-chan does act a bit demure at times.  But at no point does she act with hesitation or sexual inexperience.  While she is playing a character in this film, in a sense, nonetheless this is not a debut film so you are getting a top AV star at the peak of her powers.  Despite that fact that this entry was only a few films into her career, China-can showcases some great ability here, which has only grown further in later movies.  Her presence and charisma in this one are fantastic, and on the technical side I have no criticism of her sexual skills.  But to circle back to my initial comments, the combination of relaxation and sexual excitement is really the best when it comes to a good soapland film performance, and China-chan satisfies.

Story/Theme/Setting

As I've mentioned in past soapland film reviews, this genre typically does not have a story in most cases.  So when scoring this category, I am looking to see that it meets the technical expectations of what a soapland film should have.  Although I've seen this film many times, when going back to review it with a critical eye, I was a little concerned that there might be some of the same issues as I saw with another of SOD Star's soapland films that I recently reviewed.  However, in this movie that is not the case for the most part.  The film clocks in at about 3 hours and 20 minutes so there is a lot of action packed in.  All the necessary soapland features are included: soapy massage, bathtime fun, nuru massage, and tongue bath/rimjob.  The quality and length of these segments are exactly what I demand from a good soapland film.  There are also a couple of excellent straight sex scenes outside of the soapland element, which feature a bit of schoolgirl cosplay from China-chan.  The sex in these segments is excellent. and the cosplay is nice unexpected bonus.  

As in other SOD Star rookie soapland films, there is a training session where a milf educates China-chan on her job and they both service a male client together. Similar to the Aimi Yoshikawa soapland film I reviewed, this scene curiously occurs at the end of the movie.  Unlike that scene, however, this one ends with some fantastic sex rather than a lame handjob.  Taking all of this into account, I'd say that we have an excellent, if not perfect, soapland film.

Sexual Content

There is an excellent amount of sexual content in this film, with little unecessary filler.  The film opens with China-chan greeting the POV customer in a schoolgirl outfit.  What follows is a long sex scene featuring great camerawork which showcases her assets.  She provides a good mixture of kissing, blowjob and sex in various positions before climaxing with a tittyfuck.  Overall this was a good introduction into the movie.  From there, we move on to the actual soapland elements, which begin with a pink bathtub sequence featuring a nice and slow relaxing blowjob, which transitions to a fantastic soapy massage featuring China-chan's wonderful soapy tits.  In my opinion, any soapland film lacking a soapy massage misses the mark, so luckily we have that scene here.  It's particularly important when we have someone with big naturals like China-chan.  The POV closeups in this scene are also very good.  The scene closes with some doggystyle sex.

We then move to the centerpiece of any soapland film: the nuru massage portion  China-chan slimes herself up before delivering a body massage.  It's a true delight to see her slippery tits pressed against the male actor's body.  She also delivers some good tongue bath/rimjob service.  It's not raunchy or aggressive in this case, like you may have seen Shibuya Kaho or Okita Anri deliver, but it's well done in a gentler, more sensual way.  The scene finishes with good amounts of blowjob action followed by sex.  

The next scene moves to bedroom, featuring China-chan in a different kind of schoolgirl outfit.  There's a quasi 69 sequence which delivers good closeups of her pussy, at least as good as JAV censorship will allow at any rate.  She's then taken in various positions for a satisfactory finish.  Finally, the film ends with a long soapland training sequence.  I've said before how I felt it doesn't make sense chronologically to end movies with this type of scene.  However, I am willing to overlook that because this scene is well done.  The milf trainer is more involved that in similar scenes I've seen, with a good helping of 2-on-1 massage and blowjob sequences.  China-chan also delivers some more slimy body massage and titfuck action, before finishing with some cowgirl sex and a combination handjob blowjob to suck down the cum.

Overall

Overall, this is a great soapland film.  While it's not perfect, it's very entertaining and has a lot sexual content with basically no filler or interludes.  It fulfills all the requirements of what I want in a soapland film, and China-chan puts in a respectable performance, especially considering how early in her career this movie was made.  Now that she's grown into a seasoned performer a little over a year since this released, I'd love to see how she'd tackle the soapland genre again.  She's dabbled in some scenes here and there, but I'd love to see another dedicated soapland movie.  In the end, this one is highly recommended.

Introduction

Soaplands are another distinctly Japanese invention, one perfect for those hot summer months. Mr. White touched upon them when he spoke about Aimi Yoshikawa, but the summary can be “a man’s bath with a lovely assistant for money.” Of course, there are some soaplands for a female clientele, but those aren’t our concern right now.

In terms of process, the consumer goes to a soapland, chooses a girl, and the house charges the customer for the room. The house also charges the girl for the room and her equipment, but that’s the beginning and end of their involvement. After that, the girl and the consumer negotiate. The law prohibits the exchange of money for sex, so it’s forbidden to have sexual intercourse during the course of a soapland experience.

However, this isn’t a “pure” soapland. Let’s see what my rising favorite Yua Mikami did here.

The Actress

As Mr. White and I have made clear previously, Yua Mikami is a naughty princess with a lightly erotic smile, the girl next door with a lovely face and enticing sex appeal. She has charm, physical beauty, and an indefinable yet recognizable sweetness that makes you want her all for yourself.

Even when she plays the whore, as she does in this film, it does not feel like you’re dealing with your typical slattern. Instead, her pure sensuality continues to convince you that if you’re just the right kind of guy, she’ll abandon her job to be by your side, yours and yours alone. She maintains eye contact with the camera and it seems like she is trying to draw the viewer in to fall for her.

The Performance

Yua Mikami is not your typical soapland worker. As a matter of act, I would say she is playing a top-tier escort who happens to offer a soapland course, but more on that later. Mr. White mentioned her charisma and I concur, it is one of her strongest selling points. Yua Mikami’s charisma transforms her into a standout performer. When she combines this with her good sexual skills, she easily lays claim to a status as a powerhouse.

Anyway, while she delivers all of the good cheer that seems to be a requirement for a soapland experience, she goes one step further by explicitly seducing the customer. The heavy use of POV angles allows Yua Mikami to use her aura of sensuality and her girl-next-door appeal to make the viewer melt in her hands. She is looking into the camera as she kisses the customer while simultaneously giving a handjob. She is gazing into the viewer’s eyes as she gives fellatio. She is cuddling with you as you hold her. It’s a powerful illusion that happens to be reinforced with her sexual skills. This is not about an aggressive assertion of dominance via sex, but the persuasion to accept pleasure.

Story/Theme/Setting

The very first hint that this is not the stereotypical soap experience is that when the viewer avatar is waiting in a well-appointed living room, with a glass of champagne in his hand. Yua Mikami appears on a landing overhead wearing a fancy white dress better suited for a ball than a brothel, then calmly, seductively, strides down the steps to kneel before you, all sweetness and good cheer and oh the customer is going to have his brains removed via orgasm, how nice.

There are four scenes, with Yua Mikami delivering sensuality in each of them. A bit over a third of the film is spent outside of the more “traditional” soapland context. Even so, the soapland elements are fantastic. The viewer wants to receive the blessing of her body on his own, whether this involves a handjob disguised as cleanliness or a full-body nuru message as she glides over the AV actor like a human massage sponge. This full-service approach leaves the viewer refreshed and eager for more.

I’m not a soapland expert like Mr. White, so I will confess that this section was graded more based on what I’ve learned about the genre from him. Frankly, I’d have given it a perfect score, but judged it might not have been soapland enough. I’d be willing to issue a correction if he reviews this film and suggests my assessment was too strict.

Sexual Content

Three films later, I am beginning to suspect that Yua Mikami will become my Julia – difficult, at best, to provide an objective review. For now, I will endeavor to be as impartial as I can be and feel confident I am not giving her a pass.

For now, Great Scott! When last I described the opening scene, Yua Mikami was all dressed up and on her knees before the viewer. She moves to quickly get the AV actor into a towel, but stops when she notices the actor's erection. What follows is fellatio over a towel. It's rather astonishing how arousing the whole thing is, but once she moves toward full fellatio, it's clear that we are in for a ride. Once she's guided the action toward the couch, we are treated to a fantastic "full service" sex scene, where she even includes the panty-pulled-to-the-side and once again, it feels hot, unlike a certain failure.

Once we reach the next scene, Yua Mikami has changed into a transparent whisp of silk that leaves nothing to the imagination yet charms the viewer. She proceeds to clean up quite thoroughly, using the standard tools of the trade, including the "pervert chair," the "intracrural wipe," and the sudsy soaping. No penetration in this scene, but there is fellatio, and it feels both refreshing and stimulating.

The third scene begins with Yua Mikami in a piece of lingerie, a teddy I believe it is called, but that is quickly discarded for a dip in the tub that precedes the main event: the nuru massage. She slides all over the viewer avatar, licking, kissing, stroking, and otherwise pretending she is being soothing when the reality is that she is inflaming passion. After what feels like an eternity of being goaded, penetration is finally achieved, and the sex scene is quite as stimulating as the first scene of the movie.

The finale may be my favorite section. Yua Mikami appears in the bedroom, wearing a red velvet dress. This red dress is the kind that gets the blood boiling in the ears, the kind that makes the viewer want to just rip it off her and get right down to business. However, elegant courtesan that she is, Yua Mikami demands to be held first. At least she is kind enough to let foreplay begin soon and the scene itself is great. Throughout the sex, you really do feel like she's all yours to do with as you wish.

One final detail: she seems more tolerant of facials now than she used to be. I think she's getting used to them.

Overall

This film is a truly enjoyable addition to any collection, including soapland fans. Even when she plays the prostitute, Yua Mikami insists on doing so with a certain class that puts her above most of her rivals. It's a strong performance from strong to finish, with Yua Mikami's trademarks of actress charisma and viewer seduction front and center. I, for one, think this strengthens Yua Mikami's ranking in my own internal catalog and wonder when I'll be forced to declare her my new favorite.

Introduction

Aimi Yoshikawa is one of my favorite performers, and a big reason behind that is the fact that she's jumped around labels a bit.  Debuting in 2013 under the SOD Star label, where she had a run of some solid titles, she subsequently had periods under Team Zero and S No. 1 Style, before moving to her current status of being a little more freelance and doing a bunch of work for Moodyz and Wanz with a few one-offs mixed here and there.  The reason why I've found this great as a fan is the fact that I've got to see her feature in some of my favorite series and themes from several top labels.  This, in my opinion, has helped her stay interesting instead of growing stale under a single label.  In nearly 3 years in the business, she's amassed a very respectable body of work.  Her career is almost like that of a rockstar who's spent time in different bands and played with different musical styles.  For this review, we take a look at one of my favorite genres in all of JAV: soapland.

Based on a common service in the Japanese sex industry, the soapland genre typically involves a hot girl who will undress you, service you, and bathe you while providing related services such as soapy or slimy nuru body massage.  This genre is also famous for its POV camerawork and rimjobs, all a part of the "cleaning process".  The idea here is all about how to get their customer squeaky clean and satisfied.  Now that's what I call a cultural contribution.  Let's take a look at this entry from SOD Star.
 

The Actress

Not unlike one of my other favorites, Matsuoka China, Aimi Yoshikawa fills that role as the cute, innocent looking girl next door, but with big tits and a pornstar body.  While I can and do appreciate the look of a an all around glamour girl like Okita Anri or Julia, there's something innately hot about the contradictions of innocence and sexiness, or a wholesome cute face coupled with a body made for naughtiness.  As I explore further into JAV, I more and more find this archetype to be the most compelling.  Aimi certainly has a top-notch set of big naturals, but in no way does she just coast on them.  I've seen her deliver great consistency in her performances with good use of eye contact, dirty talk with a sultry voice, and overall solid sexual skills.  For me I think that's what sets her apart: there's something in her eyes and body language that makes you want to just want to have a field day with her.

The Performance

If I could describe this performance in one word, I'd say: cheerful.  What I mean by that is that Aimi-chan is very upbeat and playful throughout the film.  There's no notions of her being "forced" to service the POV actor, instead, she plays the role of an eager soapland prostitute.  This type of attitude is on of the keys to a good performance in this genre. Much like an actual soapland worker is being paid to provide you with a great experience, a good JAV actresses needs to replicate this. Just like in real life, it's not down to sexual skills alone, but the proper attitude and enthusiasm.  It makes for a repeat soapland customer, and likewise, makes me a repeat purchaser of that actress's soapland productions.  As far as her sexual prowess is concerned, another thing I've always liked about Aimi is the eagerness she often shows in her films.  She sucks a cock like it was her last meal, she puts her tits to great use, and she rides a dick like she is trying to win the Kentucky Derby.  I'll break down some specific scenes below, but suffice to say that she puts in a great performance.

Story/Theme/Setting

Films in the soapland genre do not typically have much in the way of a story, but nonetheless, there are critical elements that are essential to a good example of the genre.  There will typically be initial sequences involving the actress undressing you and herself, and "warming you up".  Then of course there will be soapy massage and sex play, typically in a bathtub.  Often times there will be a soapy massage on a "soapland stool", which will have a hole in the bottom, allowing for easy access for the performer to provide blowjob, handjob and rimjob services.  There will also be a bodyslide massage using nuru, a slimy seaweed extract.  Finally, there will be full on penetrative sex, which can occur at any of these sequences, and also may occur in a separate sequence on a bed.  Beyond these scenes, some common tropes in the genre include full body kisses, which sometimes can be quite slurp-tastic if the nuru is invoved.  For those of you who enjoy watching a girl completely degrade herself by performing a rimjob, there is often plenty of that in soapland films as well.  

This film does a fine job of checking many of the soapland boxes.  There is a healthy amount of nuru action and bodyslide massage, rimming, and washing.  However there are a few pieces missing here.  First, the cover is misleading as there is no soapy massage sequence.  Also, the actual "soapland" sequences are only part of the film.  In fact, there are only 2 soapland sequences, although they are very long.  The first 45 minutes or so does not include any soapland elements, and then a soapland sequence follows that.  Then, there is a long non-soapland sex sequence, followed by another soapland sequence to close the film, which involves Aimi-chan being trained by a milf on the finer points of being a soapland girl, with a guy present to "practice on".  I found it a little bit odd that the training sequence would come at the end of the film, but I've seen that done before so it's not a huge issue.  Additionally, I will say that many soapland films will include non-soapland sequences, usually toward the end, when the action moves to a bedroom.  So I don't demand wall-to-wall soapland action for the entire running time.  That being said, I felt this film didn't have quite enough soapland elements.  The lack of a soapy massage, and a scarce amount time spent in a bathtub forces me to say that they didn't quite hit the mark for what I expect from soapland content.  I think the bottom line here is that the soapland content in the film is excellent, my issue is that I wish there was more of it.  If they had replaced the beginning part of the film with another soapland sequence, I think I would've rated this much higher.

Sexual Content

Given my disappointment with the less than ideal amount of soapland content, I have to say that the other elements in this film are so great that I still rate it highly.  The subgenre of this film is creampie, and all of the vaginal sex scenes end with a fantastic one.  Aimi-chan's performance also helps sell the scenes and increases their quality.  The film opens with plenty of POV licking, sucking, and tittyfucking and transitions into a great sex scene that climaxes into a creampie.  Not content to leave it at that, Aimi-chan then gets up to make sure every last drop is sucked out of the dick before rubbing it between her tits.  This opening scene is fantastic, and while it may not really be soapland-related, it does not disappoint.  We then transition to some nuru play and good usage of the soapland chair, which includes some great camerawork, showing her ass grinding up and down while she gives a blowjob.  This turns into some POV pounding with excellent doggystyle work.

The film then moves on to the classic nuru mat play, which culminates in another creampie.  Of particular note is Aimi-chan's rimjob work, which is enthusiastic.  Some JAV actresses have an aversion to this, but Aimi-chan licks ass like it's the nectar of the gods.  The film then moves on to a bed sex scene, the highlights of which include Aimi-chan's sexy lingerie and an excellent simultaneous blowjob and titty fuck combo, which is something I love to see from busty girls.  This is a fantastic sequence, objectively perhaps the best scene in the film.  After the ensuing creampie, we move on to the final sequence, where an milf I am unable to identify trains Aimi-chan on the finer points of being a soapland girl.  This sequence is a bit of a letdown.  Editorially, I feel like this does not belong at the end, because the action here is a little less vigorous, a little less hardcore than all the scenes that precede it.  I think it would've been fine as a warmup scene in the beginning, and chronologically would have also made sense there.  It feels like the hot bed sex scene should've been the climax of the film, as it is in many other soapland works.  The final scene is also disappointing because it does not end with a creampie, but with a handjob cumshot.  Overall, Aimi-chan does a decent job in this scene, but because she's playing the role of trainee, I find her performance in this part to be weaker and inconsistent with the rest of the film.  Again, consistent with the role, but disappointing.

I really think putting the training scene at the end makes the film end with a whimper rather than a bang.  However, the quality of sex in all the other scenes is amazing.  If I were to give a near perfect score for the sex for 2/3 of the film, but a lackluster score for the final third that consists of this sequence, I think it balances out to:

Overall

I have to be honest, of all the JAV reviews I've done so far, this was the hardest and most complicated to write.  There is so much that works in this film, there are so many excellent components.  Yet, there are a few things missing here.  I can forgive some of the nuances that are lacking, like not quite enough actual soapland content and minimal use of a bathtub, but it's harder to forgive the utter lack of soapy massage as seen on the cover, and even more so for the underwhelming final sequence.  That being said, what we have here is a film that I thoroughly enjoyed, even with its flaws.  I think fans of Aimi-chan will be very pleased, and soapland fans may enjoy it as well, as long as you go into it with proper expectations.

Overall, I would honestly have to say that this is an example of some of Aimi-chan's finest work.  Her performance and top-notch sex skills elevate what could've been a forgettable picture.  I've seen films that were poorly done by the filmmakers, and unfortunately the actresses did not deliver well enough to make something worthy of your time.  I think in the future I will hold this one up as an example of a JAV idol carrying a picture that otherwise would've been poor.  Flaws and all, I nonetheless have to consider this highly recommended.
