Introduction

JAV team-up films often make me apprehensive, because many of them are just not that well done. I'm not really sure why, but in many cases it can be a weakness of JAV and an area that western porn does far better. That isn't to say there aren't excellent JAV team-ups, because there are plenty. But for some reason, many JAV filmmakers do not understand the basic concepts of how to make scenes with 2 girls erotic and fun. After the last team-up film I reviewed, which was pretty much a disaster, I was not looking forward to tackling another. But in honor of Halloween, I was obligated to check this one out. Like many of you, I was attracted to the cover because it featured some Chun Li and Cammy cosplay, but the porn version. It doesn't hurt that it stars Tia, one of my favorites, and Sofia Takigawa, who had a brief but impactful couple of years in JAV.

The Actresses

Tia
Tia is a plastic whore. When I say that, I mean it as a great compliment. She epitomizes the fake plastic look with her golden but not excessively tan skin, exotic colored hair, and obvious but not too fake looking plastic surgery elements. I'm onboard with her shapely yet not excessively massive plastic tits, her tight and amazing ass (one of the best in JAV) and her her superb hips-to-waist ratio. She is a performer that leans slightly toward the aggressive side, yet not too dominant. In general, she knows how to work her body and deliver great performances. She's not particularly emotionally charismatic, but she more than makes up for that with an understanding of how to use her body well. She has an athleticism that can be refreshing... it's almost hard to describe her because she certainly is not a passive, laying there and taking kind of star, but she isn't a dominatrix either. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I like her because she represents a unique niche in my collection. Likewise, her fake looks don't skew toward being an orange gyaru girl, but Tia-chan clearly isn't all natural either. So in that sense, she is very balanced as well, with the right level of fakery to make her seem exotic and unique as opposed to just looking cheap.

Sofia Takigawa
Sofia Takigawa has a unique face, which is largely due to the fact that she is half-European. Debuting in 2012, she all but vanished at the end of 2014, which was a shame because in my book she was upper tier hot when it came to half-Japanese JAV idols. Her European blood certainly contributed itself into giving her a nice big ass and big tits too. Across her 2 years in the business she did a number of great films and also dabbled in some solid uncensored and anal work. She was definitely a bit dirtier and raunchier than Tia, but was in many ways a similar type of performer in terms of temperament. She worked her body well, used good sexual technique and played up her assets. She was also a bit more subdued in screen presence, like Tia, but compensated for that by delivering knockout sexual performances, which skewed just a bit toward the more hardcore than Tia-chan. Overall, while Tia might have an unfair plastic advantage, I think Sofia-chan comes in at just a tad lower than her on the rating scale. Nonetheless, since all of her stuff is older now, you can find much of it at very reasonable prices and she's worth checking out.

The Performances

For team-up films, I'm not going to give the actresses individual performance ratings unless one of them had a substantially different performance than the other. In this case, both of them were about equal. Luckily for me, they were equally excellent. One thing I liked about this movie is that while it is technically a team-up movie, it opens with each of the actresses getting a long individual sex scene. I liked that this served to showcase their own talents before getting an opportunity to see how they worked together. In their "solo" scenes, both actresses showcase the best of their skills from what I've seen from them. The fucking is superb and the blowjobs are perhaps even better. But don't worry, the 3 hour running time of this movie ensures that a long chunk of it is devoted to some threesome action. Unlike the shit-tier terrible JAV team-ups I've complained about, this film does threesomes really well. There is plenty of interplay between the actresses and they both play off each other well. Idle hands are not to be found as both of them are always occupied, whether it's one getting fucked while the other gets eaten out, etc. All in all we get two excellent performances for the price of one.

Story/Theme/Setting

The interesting thing in this film in particular is that the actresses cosplay as the same characters throughout the film. While there are costume changes, Tia is always Chun Li and Sofia Takigawa is always Cammy. I really liked this aspect because it allows them to have a little bit of a storyline, as well as us viewers getting to see a lot of cosplay for those characters. If you've ever had Chun Li or Cammy sexplay fantasies, this is the film for you. For the most part, the cosplay is done right as we get to see both the costumes as well as plenty of skin. The only time I missed seeing tits is in the final scene, where Tia's upper body remains fully clothed (but thankfully, Sofia-chan's does not). While that was disappointing, it is balanced out by good presentation of her tits in the rest of the film. In fact, other than that nitpick, the cosplay theme is executed perfectly. The girls get into their characters and the long form of the film allows for story development. The usage of the costumes during the actual sex is also on point. So, overall, just a slight deduction for lack of Tia-chan's tits in one scene.

Sexual Content

In a word, the sex is satisfying. I think the decision to start things off with individual sex scenes was a brilliant one because you get the opportunity to focus on each actress first. It's like getting two flavors of ice cream, followed by mixing them up in a sundae. The individual scenes feature excellent sex and blowjobs. For Tia's scene, a lot of it is devoted to her being on top, which I think showcases her excellent hip moves. Sofia-chan's scene is slightly more aggressive and features some of the best blowjob work I've seen, coupled with a lot of great camera shots of her ass.

Next follows the first threesome scene, which has a lot of great interactivity between the actresses. There are joint blowjobs, simultaneous sex and cunnilingus, simultaneous fucking and ball licking... really the whole lot. Both of the actresses are always doing something, and it is wonderful. This is really a gold standard scene for JAV threesomes.

We then get another Sofia-chan solo scene, in which she disguises herself and gives an incredible blowjob/handjob/tifuck combo. It is an amazing scene with a great amount of technique from Sofia-chan, and it's a great bridge into our next scene, which features the particular costumes shown on the cover. It starts out with both of the girls having separate sex with different guys, which is a sadly common JAV trope and one I find rather wasteful, particularly in light of the great threesome scene earlier in the film. The gentlemen separately deliver facials to their respective girls, and we move on. This is probably the weakest scene in the movie, because it represents a missed opportunity. At least the fucking is pretty good though.

One thing I did like though is that we immediately head into the final scene. There is no cut, no transition, a new "opponent" appears for the girls and they immediately start attacking him. If you look closely, you can even see the cum still on Tia's face from her previous partner. This was an interesting editorial decision, to have a "marathon" sex scene, and I liked it. This next part features another actual threesome, and in general it's quite good, barring the fact that Tia's tits remain covered. It was also slightly disappointing because the threesome in the middle of the movie was hotter.

Despite the group scene being a bit of a letdown, and the final threesome not being quite as climactic as I'd hope, the sex in this movie is still overall amazing. The threesome in the middle of the film is one of the best I've ever scene, as is Sofia-chan's titfuck sequence that follows it. Both of their solo scenes in the beginning are also on point, particularly Sofia-chan's. I would rate those parts to be pretty much perfect, so the more disappointing parts of the movie don't drag the average down too much.

Overall

Overall, this one has a couple of flaws but does so much well.  The cosplay aspect is near perfect, and there is plenty of interactivity between the actresses in their joint scenes.  The threesome scene in the middle of the movie, as I said, is near perfect as well.  There is so much greatness in this movie that if things would've ended there I'd say it was a short, but near-perfect film.  Unfortunately some of the later scenes drag it down a bit.  I'm never happy when the best scene in the movie is not at the end.  Still, this one is highly recommended to anyone that loves cosplay, or a good example of a threesome.  And if you've always wanted to see a hot girl in a Chun Li and/or Cammy outfit get fucked, run out and buy this now.

Introduction

Julia has been a monthly feature of this blog since our launch. As Mr. White is currently distracted due to various crises, he is unable to review for a while. I felt it would be inappropriate to allow a month to go by without his beloved JAV idol, so I have stepped in temporarily for my hounded colleague. It also has to do with how he silently covered for me last week while my personal machine was doing its best to impersonate a corpse.

Before he was forced into hiatus, Mr. White reviewed two films from the “The Cosplayer With The Super Golden Ratio Body” series, with Rion and Saki Okuda. The Golden Ratio, for those connoisseurs who enjoy a bit of learning with their JAV, is also known as the divine proportion, golden mean, or golden section. Briefly, the golden ratio is shorthand for a specific kind of aesthetic beauty, amongst other things. In other words, Mr. White's reviews were on cosplay by women with divinely proportionate bodies.

Let’s see how Julia measures up to that ideal.

The Actress

Unlike Mr. White, my initial reaction to Julia was negative. I could not see what the fuss was about, as I found her face weird. After some fierce lobbying and earnest proselytizing from several JAV hobbyists, including Mr. White, my opinion has evolved somewhat.

Even now, I am still perplexed by whatever genetics produced Julia’s face. It’s long, yet the chin narrows to a point the way it would in a heart-shaped face. From different angles, it can appear somewhat oval, yet the cheekbones are quite prominent. Even after my conversion, I still think her nose is weird. Her saving grace is her facial symmetry, so she is pretty, although not classically beautiful.

One point Julia fans and anti-fans everywhere can agree on would be that her breasts are beautiful. Large and shapely, Julia’s breasts are flawless. Even in an industry full of large bosoms, hers certainly qualify as works of art. In addition, the rest of Julia’s body is proportioned toward long and slender, which help her breasts stand out even more prominently. However, those same slim lines suggest that she is not in the golden ratio, but I’m sure we can all live with that.

The Performance

With only two hours on the clock, this is a fast movie. The movie is divided into three scenes (or three cosplays): Maya from Dragon Quest IV, Mari Illustrious Makinami from the Rebuild of Evangelion, and  Hancock Boa of One Piece. In each scene, it takes an average of seven minutes for sexual activity to begin. Just as the case was in Mao Hamasaki’s swimsuit movie, the performance is almost entirely sexual, except for those seven starting minutes. For the vast majority of the film, Julia delivers a solid performance, both as her character and as a sexual courtesan.

However, even in such short sequences, the more-informed viewer will get the impression that the cosplay performance only goes skin deep. All three of the characters Julia depicts are energetic and dominant characters, but the intro photography session with “Mari” and the sex itself was uncharacteristically meek. If they were going to go that route, it would have been child’s play to find a meek, busty schoolgirl character to cosplay. That complaint aside, Julia does a good job conveying control and enthusiasm in the other two scenes.

Story/Theme/Setting

Welcome to the ultra-luxury membership Cosplay photo session.

That’s the introductory scrawl to the movie, so it is safe to say that this combines a number of niches. For starters, our actor avatar is relatively well-dressed and totes a professional camera at the start of each scene. Right off the bat, you have elite customers with high-quality goods, an attractive model in a skimpy cosplay outfit, and implied sexual guarantees. It’s surprisingly immersive, since the viewer gets the impression that even the locations are produced due to client specification.

Speaking of the locations, we have an “outcall” experience at one client’s classy, sophisticated apartment, an “incall” to the place many JAVs use for their classroom scenes (along with what I suspect is the rest of that busted building), and another outcall to a client’s luxurious hotel suite.

As for the costumes, color me shocked, but the director didn’t cheap out and get the cheapest outfits his assistants could find. They’re not ultra quality, like the Asuna cosplay from ZUKO-067, but they’re still significantly better than the other outfits in that film. This is one of the rare instances where the director did put in the effort in the visuals.

Sexual Content

Unfortunately, the film title is a little inaccurate. Fear not, there is a creampie in each scene, it’s simply that in two of the scenes, it doesn’t end at the creampie. In addition, the sexual content makes sense in progression, as the locations become more expensive, but so far as sexual advancement goes, it does not flow as well.

The first scene is with “Maya,” who quickly takes advantage of her client’s position (he’s on the floor to take upskirt-style pictures) to take over the entire session. She sits on him and quickly removes his trousers. Underwear to underwear contact and an erection ensues, so Julia takes the executive decision to pull down (not off) her client’s underwear so he can photograph her fellatio. The scene rapidly escalates as she decides to skip the photo session and go right for the sex. After some light teasing, the bra comes off, Julia’s bosom is in view, and the scene progresses to a handjob under the underwear. After that comes paizuri, then some fingering and cunnilingus, before the underwear (only the underwear!) comes off and penetration begins. Julia begins by enegergetically mounting her client in cowgirl position, which eventually moves to doggy-style, and culminates in the creampie in missionary position. However, the matter is not ended there! Julia revives after thirty seconds or so, and begins to fellate her customer even as she fingers herself. She finishes the scene with a paizuri so good that her client, who just creampied her three minutes ago, ejaculates all over her breasts. I want to emphasize that Julia finished him off, there was none of the “masturbate on her breasts” cliché.

The second scene begin with “Mari” in the classroom and, in my opinion, Julia’s looks work exceptionally well with the character. The client is in charge here and he’s rather pushy. His camera ends up hitting Julia’s glasses while he is taking an excessively close picture. The photo scene is short before he indulges himself. The breast play is decent, then Julia is pushed down onto her knees and the forced fellatio begins. There is some deepthroat action and once Julia regains agency, her technique is fairly aggressive. Stage 1 ends with Julia spitting out her client’s “gift” and shooting him an aggravated look before he soothes her. Stage 2 begins elsewhere in the deteriorating building, with the implication of a relatively long and somewhat creepy photo session. The client has maneuvered “Mari” onto a room with an air mattress and pushes her down before he begins aggressively pawing at her. After some fingering and cunnilingus, he gets on top of her and begins thrusting into her mouth. This segues into a number of sexual positions that do their best to emphasize Julia’s breasts, including spooning sex, sitting sex, cowgirl, standing doggy (complete with a great view of Julia’s heaving bosom), reverse cowgirl, and culminating in a creampie in cowgirl. Again, not the end, but in this case, it seems like the actor was still sensitive, since in the “clean-up” fellatio, he ejaculated a little into Julia's mouth. She spat that out as well.

The last scene with “Boa” begins with her introduction to her gray-haired client by a staffer at the hotel. Unlike the previous scenes, this one implies the client takes a lot of time to photograph her, as they eventually take a break for champagne. Julia coaxes the client to accept a massage, one that quickly reveals she’s not wearing any panties. The scene moves into a “dry” soapland, as Julia massages the client with her bare breasts even as she pulls more and more of his clothing off of him. What begins with fellatio transitions to a tangle of handjob, footjob, and 69 play before the client treats Julia to some breast play, fingering, and cunnilingus. Penetration begins with missionary, continues to sitting, and culminates with a creampie in doggy.

Overall 

A great deal of consideration was put into the theme of this film and the quality shows. The costumes are very good, the locations are great, and Julia does her best to deliver an erotic performance. While she has been accused of coasting on her bosom, that was not the case here. She is firmly in the lead for two-thirds of the movie and it certainly seems like she is enjoying herself. That said, one part which I can praise objectively while acknowledging the damage done in terms of sexual flow is the progression of scenes. An observant viewer would notice that as the scenes progress, the locations become more expensive, and the actor avatar is older. This makes logical sense, since older men would have more wealth to spend on this kind of hobby and would also have less stamina for the sex. Still, the realism detracts from the flow of the sexual content. Even so, the quality of the sexual content renders this relatively minor. Julia fans will be delighted by this and cosplay fans will also find this enjoyable.

Introduction

The story of Rion’s career is somewhat of a mystery.  Debuting in the fall of 2013 for S No. 1 STYLE under the name of Utsunomiya Shion, she quickly rose to huge popularity due to her combination of a gorgeous face, huge natural tits, and an overall amazing body.  Her work was very much in demand both in Japan as well as to western consumers of JAV.  Given her success, it was a bit strange that she dropped out of the industry after her August 2014 film.  Not to fear though, because she quickly returned in October 2015 and has been going strong ever since.  It’s funny, because both her original run of films and the new run of films were with the same label.  Yet, she changed her name to Rion.  However, I give credit to S No. 1 because the name change was handled in a very tongue-in-cheek manner.  They did not treat us JAV consumers like complete idiots and pretend that she was a completely different person.

Rion is certainly not the first JAV idol to leave for a bit and then make a comeback.  What is a bit unusual is that stars who do this either take a break and then change labels (but usually keep their name), or they are long established superstars who officially retire and then make a comeback, sometimes intentionally in order to create demand in their absence and increase earning upon their return.  But Rion never officially retired in order to create such a demand.  Speculation is rife as to why she initially decided to “retire”, and likewise why she wanted to return.  However, I’ve heard that often times the ladies find it hard to adjust to civilian life and the lower earnings that come with regular jobs.  Since Rion’s initial career was probably not long enough for her to put away a ton of money, this comeback would make logical sense.  As to why she left in the first place, I’ve no idea.  Perhaps she knew how in demand she was and used that to walk away in order to negotiate a better contract with her label.  Ah well, I guess we’ll never know.  At any rate, continuing our theme this month, let’s look at this recent cosplay film from her second run with S No.1 STYLE.

The Actress

Getting away from her career history and focusing just on her performances, I’ve actually heard some interesting opinions from JAV fans.  A lot of people find her physical looks so incredible, and they really are.  But some have claimed that her performances are lazy and that her on screen presence is not that great – basically she has been accused by some of being the classic lazy JAV actress that gets by on her looks but puts in no effort.  To be honest with you, I haven’t really looked at her performances with a critical eye before.  When I first became aware of her during her initial run, I was mesmerized with her body, like many fans, and I probably overlooked any bad performances as a result.  However, while I’ve still collected a lot of her work from the Rion phase of her career, I must confess I haven’t gotten around to watching much of it as they’ve been sitting on my shelf.  So this review was a great opportunity to investigate the criticism I’ve heard. 

Examining her looks first of all, she has one of the most gorgeous faces in JAV, perhaps the most gorgeous, dominated by her luscious and thick lips.  Her tits are huge and amazing, although not as great as Julia (the best bust in JAV), or perhaps even other elite busty girls like Shibuya Kaho, Aimi Yoshikawa, or Matusoka China.  Still, Rion’s tits are great.  Her ass is big, and she’s overall on the thick and curvy side (in a good way), but her ass is not what I would call particularly shapely (like Mizuno Asahi, whose ass is both big AND shapely).  Looking back at a lot of her work, there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of ass-centric stuff, this film included.  I also confirmed, like some JAV fans have noticed, that Rion-chan has put on just a little bit of weight and is certainly bigger now than in her earlier films.  I think a lot of people just see gorgeous face and big tits and don’t look any further.  But there are a few JAV idols that have both of those things, and more.  For Rion-chan, I think she is certainly a very beautiful woman, but there are some flaws there.

The Performance

I’m sorry to say it, but what I’ve heard is true, at least in this movie.  For most of the film, Rion just kind of lays there and moans.  Her charisma and screen energy is not very good.  To be fair, her blowjob and titfuck skills appear excellent and she does a fine job in those parts.  But her fucking is poor.  I feel like someone gave her bad career advice and said that when a dick is inside her, she should just lay there and take it.  She takes basically no initiative and is completely passive, but not in a good way.  Other JAV idols such as Tia can often be passive when it comes to controlling the action, but she’s really good at working her body and moving in a sexy way when she’s getting pounded.  Unlike Tia, Rion doesn’t make much effort in this movie.  I was honestly a little bored with her, and yearned to turn it off and watch a different JAV.  Balancing the pros and cons, I think this averages out to:

Story/Theme/Setting

Not much story in this movie, just your basic cosplay theme featuring a few different outfits and scenarios.  Rion gets the tits out in pretty much every scene, so I’m thankful for that.  Overall, this movie does a good job of balancing costumes being on while still enjoying the nudity of the actress.  The variety of the costumes is good, including a Greek goddess, princess, and some more Japanese-inspired roles.  Rion isn’t given much time to really play at the characters she is dressed up as, but that’s fine.  Not every cosplay film needs to be character-driven; some of them are good just seeing a beautiful woman fucked in different outfits.  Given all of the elements here, I’d say the cosplay requirements are filled pretty nicely, deducting only for the fact that I would’ve liked to see a little better atmosphere/setup for each of the scenarios.

Sexual Content

Of course, Rion-chan’s lackluster performance will affect the overall sex score, but as far as the actual sex acts used and the amount of sex, that’s more of the director’s responsibility.  The film begins with a good sex scene that makes use of some great camera angles to capture Rion’s tits hanging down.  She takes a pounding in a few different positions, and the male actor pleasures her at various points with his tongue or fingers.  A fine start, if you ask me.  The next couple of scenes are just okay, first a solo scene of Rion pleasuring herself, and then a scene of her fully clothed and giving a blowjob.  I could skip both these scenes, myself.  The next scene is quite good but disappointingly short.  Rion wears a princess costume and gives some great blowjob and titfuck service, before straddling the male actor while jerking him off.  We then move to a threesome with two guys in a jail cell, which is decent, with Rion taking a fine pounding. 

From that point, we move to one of those scenes in JAV I hate: the actress lays there while being pleasured by a man using various electric devices.  I’m sure this turns on some people, but I find it very boring.  It gets better after that, with an excellent POV blowjob/titfuck scene featuring Rion in pigtails and a schoolgirl outfit.  Finally, the ending scene features the costume on the cover, featuring some good blowjob work and some good, if brief, penetrative sex.  So, if I’m keeping track, that’s 3 pretty great scenes, 2 OK scenes, and 3 scenes that are not so great.  I think that averages out to:

Overall

Taking everything in, we’ve got a pretty hot actress and great execution of the cosplay theme, hindered by a lackluster performance and sexual content that runs the gamut in terms of quality.  Rion certainly has to take the blame for her performance, but I think the filmmakers also shoulder some blame for the mediocrity for much of the sex scenes.  If you are a serious lover of Rion and also of cosplay, you will probably want this if for no other reason than she hasn’t really done cosplay before.  For everyone else, it’s hard to give my recommendation.  There are definitely much better cosplay films out there.

Introduction

While massaging my ego by pretending to be a real journalist, I stumbled across something that surprised me. There are apparently sex parties at anime conventions. I originally dismissed the whole idea as a mere fantasy, but while researching for this review, I stumbled onto references to it. Sex at conventions is not surprising – cosplayers and other geeks have libidos too, but full-out orgies are myths. They’re supposed to be, at least.

Leave it to Japan to turn the concept into a JAV. Let’s see how it works.

The Actresses

There’s six actresses in this film, so my usual analysis would be rather lengthy. In the interest of readability, I will be far quicker with the assessments. If I should review a film with one of these actresses in the future, I’ll be more thorough. Based on the picture above, from left to right:

Yuri Shinomiya (Anya Alstreim, Code Geass)
Yuri Shinomiya has the misfortune of being the least memorable of the lot. Everything about her is distinctly average, except her tiny breasts. For me, she’s just a background character.

Shizuka Hasegawa (Asuna, Sword Art Online)
The best-looking of the bunch, Shizuka Hasegawa has charisma. She has one of those infectious smiles that makes you grin back. Her slender, petite body radiates sexuality. She’s criminally underseen in this.

The bustiest of the lot, Akane Yoshinaga’s large, bouncy breasts satisfies the needs of her character as well as those of big breast lovers. Her face is average.

She’s prettier than Akane Yoshinaga, but nowhere near Shizuka Hasegawa. I’d say her breasts are the third largest in this film, which is not exactly saying much.

Marie Konishi creeps me out. Someone once told me that Japanese businessmen all like women to look and behave like they’re twelve years old or less, and Marie Konishi aims to please that department. The downstairs complete shave contributes to the discomfort.

The Performance

The deeper I advance into this review, the more I feel like I made a mistake selecting this film. The presence of so many actresses makes it trickier to review than the others.

This time, these aren’t persona cosplayers, so there is no display that allows the viewer to consider if they act believably like their adopted character. Instead, these are cosplayers who have finished their 15 minutes of glory in their chosen arena and are ready to wrap up.

Each actress does a good job of using their own persona for this. As an example, Marie Konishi does that sexual twelve-year-old thing, acting childish even as she flashes the camera. Have I mentioned how creepy that is? It’s bad enough that they preemptively censor her while her underwear is still on. Her colleague in the scene, Ito Yoshikawa, behaves like a flirtatious young woman, so she helps give the viewer someone to concentrate on that does not make the viewer feel like he will be in prison soon.

Another part of the performance that is quite good is the “big bang” room. Everything except for the final scene is taking place almost simultaneously, so when one of the actresses finishes, she wanders into a large living room. This means that even as they’re being seduced, someone else is already further along and is probably being very vocal about their activities. As each one finishes and joins the others in the last room, there is a palpable feel of “now what?” It adds to the entertainment and, dare I say it, realism.

Story/Theme/Setting

I am incredibly grateful this section is so easy. The scenario opens with the girls all outside some convention center, wearing their outfits but still clearly ready to vacate the premises. They’re approached in two small groups (Love Live! in one, the rest in the other) and successfully convinced to hang out with the guys (nampa?). It probably helps that the girls are never outnumbered. They are taken back to what appears to be a massive apartment and the fun begins.

The costumes run the gamut from good to garbage. For example, Akane Yoshinaga’s maid costume is definitely the cheapest they could buy off Yahoo! Auction. The only part of her gear that received a slight amount of attention would be the distinctive Super Sonico headphones, with emphasis on the word slight. At least Akane’s wig is decent. On the other side of the spectrum, Shizuka Hasegawa’s Asuna costume is great. I don’t know what material was used, but her breastplate armor piece is definitely the good stuff, while the rest of her costume does not cheap out on the decorations that go with the character and she even has a good wig. It perplexes me that she did not get more screentime, given how great the cosplay is.

The costumes for the other girls also tend toward cheap, with the exception of Yuri Shinomiya’s Anya costume, which also includes a good attempt at the character’s distinct tattoo.

Still, the theme is cosplayers after an event in a creampie orgy. However cheap the director was about the costumes, and the size of the apartment they rented suggests they needed to be, the film delivers. Spoilers, but each girl gets creampied twice, one in their “individual” scene and then again in the big bang at the end.

Sexual Content

Three hours thirty-eight minutes and seven scenes will require some attention. Still, for the short attention spans: it’s really good. Now, as I mentioned previously, the first five scenes are all happening more or less at the same time. Also, there will be screams from other parts of the house and it is mostly POV until the last scene.

First scene: threesome with Go-Directly-To-Jail-chan and Ito Yoshikawa, the Love Live! Cosplayer Duo. In a huge demerit on this scene, Marie Konishi receives most of the attention. After some digital play and an apparently intense discussion between “Kotori” and “Maki,” they move down to 60 seconds of fellatio before Marie Konishi is penetrated. “Kotori” and “Maki” do have some lesbian play, kissing each other and the like, but Marie Konishi just turns the whole thing into… not my thing. Yuri Shinomiya shows up toward the end, and “Kotori” and “Maki” interrupt themselves to invite her to join. Yuri-chan, as they affectionately call her, declines, but the half-naked actor accompanying her does not, and jumps in to help the actor who got the threesome started. The newcomer creampies Marie Konishi, while the first actor creampies Ito Yoshikawa instead. Wise man.

Second scene: actually, this solves the question of the half-naked man. In this scene, Yuri Shinomiya is in the kitchen, where she is slowly convinced to strip, losing pieces of her outfit until her male counterpart produces a dildo. She fellates the dildo and eventually sex occurs. The sex is pretty average. Two highlights include intercourse while standing up and the creampie delivered on a large, spacious kitchen countertop. “Anya” redresses herself and the two head toward the noise, where they find Marie Konishi and Ito Yoshikawa hard at work. Yuri Shinomiya soon retreats to the big bang room, where her friends are already present, basking in the awkward vibes.

The third scene is with Miku Abeno scene, which takes place in the bathroom. Nothing gross, it’s simply that when her group was divided, she is taken to the bathroom. She is induced to open her jacket and is soon being fingered and cajoled into giving fellatio before she is having sex in the bathroom. This is about half her scene, until certain sounds right outside lead her to venture out and find her pink-haired compatriot Akane Yoshinaga on the sofa in the missionary position. “Ene” soon finds herself in a similar position and is creampied before Akane. We discover she is the second in the big bang room, as “Asuna” never left.

Fourth scene: Akane Yoshinaga the bustiest of our cosplaying JAV actresses, is not the easiest to get into bed… er, sofa. She allows herself to be felt up and she resists being made naked at first. Even so, she quickly finds herself in the aforementioned missionary position, where her voice soon results in her friend Miku Abeno popping out of the bathroom and continuing her own affair nearby. As befits a somewhat shy character, “Super Sonico” sticks to the missionary position for the most part, but spices it up with the pulled aside underwear fetish, her friend “Ene” being railed not three feet away from her, and a little bit of cowgirl before she, too, is creampied.

The fifth scene: at last, Shizuka Hasegawa! Abandoned by her friends, she does not mind being asked for sexy fanservice in her cosplay and complies. In one of those weird displays of pedantry, the actor is displeased because her underwear does not match her outfit. He pulls out pure white panties to go with her Asuna character. Then he pulls out the giant “massager” and makes her wet, soaking the pure white panties. Then she’s finally penetrated. This is a “clothed” cosplay scene, so her outfit remains on the entire time, which actually makes it rather hot. We all know how this ends.

The finale: creampie orgy. The big bang room has a white mattress and a red sofa, and the action is spread throughout these two supports. Before the orgy begins, the six girls play around with one of the actors, rubbing, licking, and sucking, before culminating in something I’ve never seen before: a five girl handjob. A bit of paizuri, and we’re off to the orgy. The orgy itself is highly enjoyable, with plenty of action. Anyway, each girl is creampied, one at a time. One of the actors is obliged to do double-duty, as there are five men to six women, but even after the action concludes, there is every indication the girls want more, and the scene fades to black with four of the girls having sex even as the last two focus on reviving the last actor.

Some complaints on the last scenes: one, the girls get very loud, so it can hurt the ears a bit. Two, Marie Konishi is always in the middle of the action, which I’ve noticed is creepy. I wish she had gotten relegated to the red sofas for half or more of the scene. Three, I did not get enough of Shizuka Hasegawa.

Overall

The film was highly enjoyable. The design of the film is different, the way it flows is fun and interesting, and the whole comes across as an enjoyable sexfest. The fantasy is spiced up with the realistic elements, and what gentleman can say no to bestowing creampies on lovely ladies? Of course, there are drawbacks: Marie Konishi makes it uncomfortable, not nearly enough Shizuka Haseagawa, the costumes are cheap, so it kinda stumbles on the cosplay aspect.

However, the suspension of disbelief is preserved, so as implausible as the whole thing is, it’s still possible. Who knows, maybe this film will be the one to start a new cosplay sex club.

Review: COSQ-005 Sexcross Frontier Haruki Satou

Introduction

In the same way that there are numerous kinds of cosplayers, the types of cosplay JAV are quite varied. Some cosplayers specialize in a single character, others forge multiple costumes for an array of persona, others cosplay in circles, groups dedicated to specific interests, and so on. Then you have the cosplayers who do it for the art, the ones who do it to be popular, others who jump on the latest trend, and this has become quite involved, hasn’t it?

Suffice to say that cosplay JAV approximates the above and we shall be doing our best here to introduce the audience to as many as we have in our collections. In this particular edition, we’ll focus on a JAV actress who is cosplaying one character in multiple canon outfits and attempting the persona of the character.

The Actress

I seem to be on a streak of my favorite actresses lately. As you might have guessed, I am quite fond of Haruki Satou. The oddity here is that if one looks at her objectively, she’s not “special.” She isn’t beautiful, but her oval face is still quite pretty. She is a low-key kind of girl, overshadowed by the flashier gals in a crowd. She’s a bit more distant than the girl-next-door, so perhaps it would be fair to characterize her as the unnoticed and attractive friend of the hot glamour babe.

In contrast to this lower-energy persona, her body is excellent. Her breasts are large and shapely, while her waist is narrow and her buttocks are nicely rounded. She’s also good in bed. There’s something about this combination that works unexpectedly well with me.

The Performance

Unlike Mr. White, I like the anime/manga/video game culture from Japan as much as I like JAV. In this film, Haruki Satou cosplays as Sheryl Nome from Macross Frontier. Macross is a franchise that is composed of three components: mecha (also known as giant robots, Mr. White), music, and love triangles. Sheryl Nome is one-third of the love triangle and one half of the music, since she is known as the Galactic Fairy, a Milky Way-spanning songstress known for her powerful voice and her glamorous, charismatic persona.

I’m sure the smarter readers will see this coming, but to get this out of the way now: Haruki Satou, however much I like her, was not the best choice to cosplay Sheryl Nome. She has none of the self-confidence that Sheryl projects at every moment. Haruki Satou has neither the glamour nor the charisma to pull the role off. If they were determined to put her in cosplay from Macross Frontier, Ranka Lee, another third of the love triangle and the other half of the music, would have been the superior fit, but for two large details. Yes, Haruki Satou has a large bosom that fits with Sheryl Nome’s figure. In my considered opinion, this film would have worked better with a more glamorous JAV starlet like Anri Okita, but done is done.

When obliged to be intimate with the JAV actor cosplaying Sheryl’s love interest, Haruki does a slightly better job, but again, she is missing something, in this case, the attitude known as “tsundere.” It’s a bit more than playing hot and cold, as well as outside our scope, so go look it up. It's not like I gave you a link or anything.

Story/Theme/Setting

Ah, this section. Haruki Satou’s costumes are good! While they do not appear to have been custom-made specifically for her, they fit well, the material does not look cheap, and the wigs are top-quality. Cosplay films can often suffer from the director being a cheapskate, so it is clear that the costumes were not a victim of this. Unless you count the male actor’s costume, but only film reviewers are sufficiently uptight to notice details like that.

On the other side, devils below, the music is atrocious. For a series famed for its magnificent sound, Macross Frontier had some of the best compositions in a quarter century. Unfortunately, the stuff used in this JAV hurts my ears and does not remotely fit with the damned theme. Licensing the actual Macross music would never have happened, but I’m sure that a bit more budget could have been squeezed to have a starving artist compose a few decent soundtracks. It’s not like they spent much on the background.

Still, this is costume play. The high-quality costumes help the score despite the demerits otherwise present. The requisite elements for JAV are also present: masturbation scene, b/g scene(s), forced fanservice scene. Unfortunately, they’re out of order, so the presentation does not work as well as it should. I am deliberately not complaining about things I as a fan deem out of character.

Sexual Content

My complaints are fewer in this department. There are a total of five sex scenes, laid out along the lines mentioned before. The first scene can be considered a full service scene, where Haruki Satou attempts to project Sheryl’s persona and has sex with the love interest cosplayer. There is extensive foreplay, cunninglus, fellatio, and intercourse in multiple positions, ending in a creampie, so huzzah for the first scene! The second scene is where things flow less well, since our heroine is in the same outfit as the previous scene, but engages in an extended masturbation sequence. Sure, it’s hot, but it’s out of sync in terms of escalation.

The third scene, ugh. It’s the forced fanservice scene. Even as our Sheryl Nome (JAV edition) attempts to dismiss these fans, they succeed in pushing her down on her knees and getting a bukkake sequence. Not at all my thing, but Haruki Satou does a good job of fellating the four of them. Each actor ejaculates on her face at different times, so she looks like a hot mess by the end. It would have been better had the “fans” been faceless, but we’re forced to look at one of them, and the fellow has the full-blown lives-in-his-mother’s-basement thing going. Definitely the sort of jarring experience that does not do a boner well.

The fourth scene involves one of the fans from the previous scene, who has apparently gotten sufficiently back into the good graces of Sheryl Nome (JAV edition) to be allowed to stimulate his erection on her (fully-clothed) body, as well as to be granted the boons of receiving fellatio and paizuri. Haruki Satou’s breastplay is on point, as the fellow ejaculates all over her breasts just from the paizuri.

The finale is similar to the first scene, only somewhat hotter in places, and it does not end in a creampie. Instead, the love interest cosplayer ejaculates on Haruki Satou’s face. However, this does not necessarily mean she’s satisfied, as she quickly takes the opportunity to begin licking his nipples and giving every impression that there will be another shot on goal before the camera tilts up to the ceiling and fades to play.

Overall

The film has flaws. The order of presentation is off, which interrupts the suspension of disbelief. I would have organized the movie differently to improve the sequence and flow. I also would have eliminated that irritating "fan" bukkake scene in the middle, since the budget freed there could have been used to enhance the experience for fans who purchased this because they are fans of Macross Frontier in general and Sheryl Nome in particular.

Valid criticisms aside, Haruki Satou is still attractive and does her best to deliver in the sexual content. The costumes are great and help with the immersion. For fans of the actress, the franchise, and the character, it is certainly an above average romp into sexual fantasy and perhaps even giving it a go for non-fans.

Ah, sorry, I got a bit lost in the moment. As part of our mission to bring JAV to the West, we're also bringing ero-cosplay. With August being the time of the summer Comiket in Japan (Comiket itself being something of an excuse to have a cosplay festival), it's a good time to contemplate why cosplay is so much fun. This goes beyond the unabashedly sexy costumes that many cosplayers create by hand, spending dozens of hours and hundreds of dollars on acquiring materials and crafting their outfits.

Saotome Love

A little education: the term originated back in 1983 and 1984, when a Japanese fellow first used the term. As a result, Japan gets the credit for the origin, even though it's more likely that it's a practice that transcended borders. A fairer assessment would be that since the 1990s, Japan has helped create and drive the growth of cosplay as a hobby and industry. Cosplay outfits, just like the characters they are meant to convey, vary greatly and can range from simple to intricately detailed costumes. It's completely different from Halloween costumes, since cosplay aims to become a chosen character.

Tanaka Hitomi

It's not much of a leap for people to move toward the pervert potential in cosplay. Many of the costumes are skimpy and only the most confident pursue the hobby. For many people, the fantasy roleplay is a huge turn-on. Cosplay is often about borrowing the power of another character, if only for a few short hours, and making it the cosplayer's own. To go one step further, to successfully move the presentation of the character into sexual play, places everything on a new level of achievement.

Review: KMI-095 Me and Girlfriend and Race Queen

Introduction

Race queens are a distinctly Asian product, the modern Far East’s version of the classic pinup girl. They’re Asian women who, at from highest to lowest, are involved with the advertisement of products, particularly vehicles. They’re attractive, which makes whatever they’re hawking more appealing. As a bonus, they’re a bit like information help desks. They are common sights at car shows, circling the latest souped-up racer while wearing appropriately branded clothing and insipid smiles.

In terms of tools, race queens do not necessarily require good looks to accomplish their jobs so much as glamour. This is probably the reason why race queens are rarely truly beautiful. Instead, they’re more of a conventional man’s “hot,” just good looking enough to pass muster for those with cruder tastes. This film is a particularly good example of what goes wrong when the model chosen to play the race queen lacks both beauty and glamour.

The Actress

Unlike Mr. White, I do not think Hasumi Kurea is anywhere near a 3-point-bloody-8, let alone bloody well perfect. Let’s take it from the top.

First, her face. It’s a long face, the kind that isn’t softened by the gentle curves oval faces possess that are more attractive. Her nose is weird. It’s not helped by the fact she probably has cheek implants – it’s incredibly rare for a long face to possess such prominent cheeks naturally. The large folds under her eyes are also a giveaway. Let’s also note that even without the obvious plasticity, her features aren’t attractive in the first place.

Moving downward, we come to those unnatural insults to proper order in this world. Fake breasts are grossly offensive. Real breasts should not look like they were bolted on like a cheap aftermarket add-on to a nice car. Real breasts should not look like they are flesh balloons layered as a thin skin over cannonballs. At least the falsehoods are blatantly obvious.

The only positive aspect I can find in this Western-style actress in a JAV world would be her buttocks. I’m not as expert in spotting fakes below are the waist as I am for breast and faces, but after studying her rear, her waist, her thighs, and their proportions in relation to each other, I’m almost certain it’s genuine. It’s a shapely and large pair of buttocks, her primary “selling point,” and, please forgive the pun, her only asset.

The Performance

"Overdone” is probably the operative word for her performance. I might also use “bored,” but again, I’m giving the benefit of the doubt and guessing that her facial surgery distorts her natural expression enough that you could mistake her arousal for “she’s bored out of her mind.” Or high.

Her acting is lackluster, a disappointment given the high ratings for this movie online. It feels routine and contributes to the impression that she is phoning it in. It’s true that she’s loud, but loud in a stereotypical JAV way. No, I am in error describing it thus. Her squeals, even while performing a paizuri using those rocks she calls breasts, are just so… Western. It feels more like she’s making noise for the sake of making noise, similarly to how Western actresses often talk dirty simply to fill the time between the routine layout of a Western porn scene. Her attempts to play to the audience are… inadequate.

The only noise she makes which is well done and actually feels like she’s enjoying herself is her fellatio, but more on that below.

Story/Theme/Setting

Unlike JUX-600, I originally acquired this film due to the premise, not the cover. As Mr. White has noted in his reviews, the virtual girlfriend/wife genre is fantastic. I was highly curious to see how the director managed to combine race queens with girlfriends. The title itself suggested there would be some interesting tension, as it divides the relationship into the man, the girlfriend, and the girlfriend’s race queen persona. I assumed there would likely be extra measures to reassure the boyfriend that the girlfriend would be completely faithful. I gave them far too much bloody credit.

First, let’s start the problem I referenced in the introduction. Hasumi Kurea lacks any kind of glamour whatsoever. She is simply not believable as a race queen. When I think of glamour, I think of Anri Okita or Yui Hatano or especially Maria Ozawa. Maria Ozawa certainly got lazy at points, but there was never a point where you missed how alluring she was. Hasumia Kurea just looks bored/high out of her mind. Again, maybe it’s the plastic surgery.

In the third scene of the movie, Hasumi Kurea is dressed in the race queen uniform. She stands atop a pair of boxes and gyrates her hips and moves her butt in a manner appropriate for an exotic dancer. There is no music. If this was supposed to sell the viewer on her race queen status, the lack of even a cheap bass line to stimulate the heart rate shot its chance of success in the back of head.

Then there’s the second part, the girlfriend. This isn’t your significant other. No part of the scenario is delivered. This is some bimbo in a leotard who is strutting around for you to admire her shapely buttocks. Even then, you see more breasts and butts at a strip club than in this JAV movie.

Sexual Content

For most of the movie, her breasts are covered. Sound familiar? While a small mercy for a purist like me, this will be a doubtlessly massive turn-off for less discerning consumers of JAV movies. In addition, she’s never actually naked. There is a kink where the panties (and in two cases, the leotards) are pulled to the side, and that is how the sex scenes are done. It would be hot once, but the repetition renders it pointless. This is not off to a good start, is it?

There are two extended sex scenes in this two hour movie. There’s an intermission of sorts in the middle, where Hasumi Kurea walks on a treadmill, has a vibrator placed inside her while her leotard is moved over the vibrator to keep it in place. It’s actually mildly interesting to watch, which is good, since the rest of the intermission is the same old “grope ass, shove fingers in, molest with sex toy, penetrate with phallic object” I had already seen for the previous hour. The rub is that the intermission lacked any intercourse.

The only standout would be the two times she delivers fellatio. When the viewer is not obliged to wonder how the actress got her hands on so many hard drugs in Japan, the observation that she is eager to have foreign objects in her mouth. It’s about the only time in the movie she does not appear to be bored. My theory is that having her mouth full changes the shape of her face enough that the distortion from the plastic surgery is reduced.

Overall

I know Mr. White will protest quite loudly, but I remind him I chose one of her highly-rated films for this review. It’s a lackluster movie in ways that could have been avoided. Even if Hasumi Kurea is about as glamorous as a balloon filled with rocks, this could have been compensated with the “girlfriend” part, but was not. The sex could have been better, but was not. There’s only so much a perfect ass can do, and bluntly, it was nowhere near capable of making up for the hours lost rewatching this and reviewing it.
